Access to Top Hedge Fund Equity Ideas
Hedge funds spend tens to hundreds of millions on talent and research to uncover the most attractive investment opportunities, and in exchange typically charge a 2% management fee and a 20% performance fee. However, on a quarterly basis, all hedge funds with more than $100 million in U.S. equity investments are required to publish their holdings in a publicly available document called the 13F. The Global X Guru Index ETF (GURU) uses a proprietary methodology to compile the highest conviction ideas from a select pool of hedge funds where the 13F information is most valuable. For example, hedge funds with high turnover are eliminated from the pool. The goal of GURU is to aggregate on a quarterly basis the ideas and knowledge of hedge fund managers into the transparent, potentially cost-efficient and easily accessible format of an ETF.
Access to Activist Investor Ideas
The Global X Guru Activist Index ETF (ACTX) seeks to provide investors with access to 50 of the top equity holdings that are targets of major activist investors. Activists are known to target companies to unlock unrealized value for shareholders by effecting major changes. ACTX follows some of the largest and best-known activists in the world by utilizing publicly available information contained in 13F and 13D filings. By investing alongside these activists, ACTX seeks to benefit from their campaigns and potentially generate excess returns over US equity benchmarks, such as the S&P 500.

1 The Solactive Guru Index is comprised of the top U.S. listed equity positions reported on Form 13F by a select group of entities that Solactive AG characterizes as hedge funds.
2 The S&P 500 is an index of 500 stocks chosen by factors such as market size, liquidity and industry grouping. The Index is designed to be a leading indicator of U.S. equities and is meant to reflect the risk/return characteristics of the large-cap universe.
Investing involves risk, including the possible loss of principal. The 13F filings used to select the securities in the Underlying Index for each fund are filed by each hedge fund approximately 45 days after the end of each calendar quarter. Therefore a given hedge fund may have already sold its position by the time of the 13F filing. For GURU, the fundís manager has the ability to employ up to 20% leverage, which may accelerate the velocity of potential gains or losses. The funds may invest in small and mid-capitalization companies, which have greater volatility and less financial resources than large-capitalization companies. Furthermore, the funds may hold foreign securities which are subject to different risks than domestic securities, including foreign currency fluctuation, different financial and accounting standards, and political instability. Investments in the securities of foreign issuers (including investments in American Depositary Receipts (ďADRsĒ)) are subject to the risks associated with investing in those foreign markets, such as heightened risks of inflation or nationalization. The Funds are non-diversified.
